Central Election Commission of the Republic
of Azerbaijan (CEC) conducted its session
headed by Mr. Mazahir Panahov on January
19, 2006.
Firstly, CEC Secretaries, Mr. Natig Mammadov
and Mr. Vidadi Mahmudov reported on the
issue on the approval of candidacies on
some constituencies related to re-elections
appointed on May 13, 2006. Decision was
adopted on the approval of 4 persons on
Binagadi second Con.EC # 9 and of 1 person
on each of Nizami (Ganja) Con.EC # 38,
Sumgayit second Con.EC # 42, Zagatala
Con.EC # 110 and Aghdam village Con.EC
# 119.
Later, the appeal of Lale Shovkat Hajiyeva,
deputy of third call Milli Majlis of the
Republic of Azerbaijan on Yasamal third
Con.EC # 17 was considered and decision
was adopted on depriving her of deputy
mandate.
At the session, current issues were also
considered.
At the CEC session, representatives of
the USA embassy, IFES (International Foundation
for Election Systems) and mass media also
took part.

Firstly, CEC Secretaries – Mr. Natig Mammadov
and Mr. Vidadi Mahmdov reported on the
issue on the approval of nomination of
candidacies on some constituencies related
to re-elections to third call Milli Majlis
of the Republic of Azerbaijan appointed
on May 13, 2006.
At the session current issues were also
considered.
At CEC session, representatives of IFES
(International Foundation for Election
Systems) and mass media also took part.
